This is not meant to be a negative review. These bookends are very good, though the rubber pads on the bottom, which do a fantastic job of gripping to the surface, pull and slide off. The design is nice but causes the book-edges to get caught and paperbacks get bent and torn. You just have to learn how to put books away to prevent damage. Other than these problems, they're very good, I like the design.On a different note: I'm looking forward to getting a couple of those werewolf bookends, ever see them? I love werewolves :)Anyways, the photos showing the slid-off pads aren't from the new batch of bookends I just purchased but are still the same exact type. I still bought them. BUT I may not have bought them from the same seller. I never really pay much attention to that detail - but the product is the exact same ones. There's no marking on them to determine brand name :/

Since we have so many books and shelves, we needed plenty of bookends. This product came in handy. The look is great and the price is even better.

The book ends have a little weight to them, which I prefer, and are beautiful!
