The Penta Evo Hang Holds offer a fresh take on climbing training equipment with their distinctive penta-ring design. Unlike traditional hangboards or single rings, these holds provide a versatile platform for targeting various aspects of grip strength and can be used for various exercises.Upon receiving them, I was eager to integrate them into my existing training setup. I immediately attached them to the ceiling anchor typically used for my TRX system, which worked great. My initial use focused on standard climbing exercises. I performed pull-ups, which felt stable and allowed for a natural hand position on the holds. I also experimented with finger holds, utilizing the larger holds. The ergonomic design felt comfortable and provided a solid base for these exercises.I like their potential for progressive grip strength development. While I can comfortably use the larger holds for finger hangs, the smaller holds present a significant challenge that I'm actively working towards. These holds seem perfectly suited for gradually increasing the difficulty.By using longer cords, I was able to perform body-weight chest flys. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually prefer doing this exercise with these holds compared to my standard TRX equipment. The feel and range of motion seemed more effective for this particular movement.

I used to climb seriously, and I’ve been meaning to get back into finger strength training. I was leaning toward a traditional hangboard, but these wooden pentagonal rings ended up making more sense for my setup. They're easy to pack and set up, which makes them great for using at the cottage or when traveling. As long as you’ve got a solid anchor point, you can get through a solid upper-body or calisthenics workout. That said, you’ll need to reposition them depending on the exercise, which can be a bit of a hassle if you’re switching things up often. Still, compared to lugging around 80lb dumbbells (which is what I used to do), this is significantly more practical. The grip is solid (good grit - not too smooth) and the shape allows for a false grip if you’re doing muscle-ups or other advanced stuff. When I'm not travelling, I'll mostly use them for hangboard-style holds and pull-ups/chin-ups, since I’ve already got a full gym setup at home. That's why I set them up directly on my power tower using the shorter ropes provided, where I can slide them off at my leisure.Overall, these rings are a really solid piece of gear particularly if you’re into rock climbing (but it's not necessary) and looking for something versatile and portable. Of course, they're not a replacement for a full gym setup, but when you factor in the price and footprint, it's hard to think of another piece of equipment that offers more.

These YY Vertical climbing hang holds are a great addition to training aresnal of any climber or would-be climber. We already own a YY Vertical climbing hangboard, and these hang holds are made out of the same quality wood with the same care put into them. My rope tying skills are quite rusty, so I had to watch the video link a few times over in order to set up the hang holds properly. Once I got them set up they proved to be excellent training equipment for climbing. There are all sorts of various depths to hold onto in the rings. You can also adjust the difficulty of your training based on the angle of your body to the ground or the closeness of the rings to each other. They also act as normal rings as well for pull-ups and dips (which I hope I get to soon). These rings are quite versitle and there is too much you can do with them to put in a short review.Just like the hangboard, the two ring hang holds provide a great climbing training session. They are very high quality—beautifully crafted! I highly recommend these hang holds.

Although I've never done any rock climbing, I grabbed this to use in my basement for exercise and am very happy with it. Installation was simple as I just attached the holds to the ceiling joists. The grips are made of wood and are very sturdy. Rotating them lets you use the different grips and holds to train your fingers and hands depending on the activity/exercise.I do feel the price is a bit steep, but in terms of quality these are great and should last essentially forever with minimal care.

I was looking for a way to strengthen my grip and fingers for climbing, so I got these Hang Holds. These portable wooden rings offer a unique mix of hangboard and gymnastic ring features, making them a practical addition to my home and travel training setup. The variety of grip options and smooth, durable build let me target different muscle groups and progress my finger strength safely.Pros- Seven grip types (25mm, 20mm, 15mm, 10mm edges, two-finger and mono pockets, jug) for progressive training and all skill levels- 360° rotation and ergonomic design allow for a wide range of exercises, including hangs, pull-ups, rows, and TRX-style moves- Made from premium poplar plywood: lightweight, strong, and gentle on the skin with smooth, rounded edges- Accommodates larger hands and provides a comfortable grip for extended sessions- Portable and easy to set up-just hang from a pull-up bar, tree, or anchor point with the included rope- Supports up to 120kg (100kg on 10mm edge), suitable for most climbers’ needs- Excellent for both beginner and advanced climbers, as well as for injury rehab or general upper body strength- Can be used for warm-ups, fingerboard training, or even as gym rings for full-body workouts- Durable construction and high-quality finish-no splinters or rough spots- Compact and easy to pack for travel or outdoor trainingCons- Included rope is functional but may feel a bit basic-some users prefer swapping for their own cord- Requires a sturdy anchor point and occasional repositioning for different exercises- Not a direct replacement for a full-size fixed hangboard if you need maximum stability or want to avoid setup time- No included mounting hardware beyond rope-hooks or anchors must be sourced separately- Price is higher than some basic hangboards, but justified by versatility and build quality- Adjusting height or switching exercises can take extra time compared to fixed setups
