I ordered this reel in a 7/8 and am impressed with the build quality of this reel. The label indicates it is manufactured in Korea. According to the Greys website this reel is injection molded aluminum that is further machined for feel and appearance. The die cast process does leave imperfections, but these do not effect operation. Non-sealed Rulon disc brake system, enclosed frame and large arbor. The reel is a bit heavy at 7.02 oz. The exterior reel diameter is 4-1/8" and exterior width is 1-3/8". The spool inside dimensions are 7/8" by about 5/8" from arbor to frame. The line spool diameter at most is around 3-3/4" which would calculate to about a max of 11.75" retrieve per revolution. The drag is nice and smooth from minimal to maximum and the retrieve feels good and has a mild clicking sound when letting line in or out.Changing to right hand retrieve was simple as would be changing a spool. The reel includes a soft padded protective case with velcro enclosure. There is no belt loop or other means to attach the case to anything.Greys was founded in England by Malcolm Grey in 1968 and only offers fly rods and reels.$100 for a fly reel from a fairly prestigious company seems to be a nice value and this particular model carries a 1 year conditional warranty against defect in materials or workmanship. I plan to take proper care of this reel as I do with all my fishing equipment and expect it to last many years. The Amazon page is very confusing with the main title "Fin Spare Spool for Fly Fishing Reel" though there are 2 options, either the "reel only" (which came with a spool and case) or for the "spare spool only". The complete reel for the 7/8 weight is $99.95 and the spare spool for the 7/8 is $45.95.I am reducing by a star for the confusing web page and the lack of specifications. Time will tell how the drag holds up.
